Gym teachers typically work shorter hours and don’t have as many responsibilities outside the classroom. Their job is mainly to keep kids active, which doesn’t require advanced skills or training like other teachers need. Paying them the same as teachers who teach crucial academic subjects sends the wrong message about what school values most.
